The Braintree District Council has launched a new campaign, 'OUR Braintree District', aimed at promoting the area's people, places, and opportunities, while also doubling community grants for councillors to £3,000.

The 'OUR Braintree District' campaign will shine a spotlight on the unique qualities of the district, celebrating its residents, businesses, and natural beauty. The initiative seeks to highlight what makes this part of Essex stand out.
"Across our towns and villages, we have so much to be proud of," stated Cllr Tom Cunningham, Leader of Braintree District Council. "This is a district with strong communities, a rich history and an exciting future. Here at Braintree District Council, we think the efforts of those making a difference in our communities deserve to be championed."
A dedicated section on the council's website will serve as a central hub for the campaign, consolidating the district’s attractions, ongoing projects, and positive stories. The campaign also includes an increase in annual community grants available to each councillor, now set at £3,000, and the introduction of additional events.
Furthermore, the popular 'Pride in Neighbourhood' days, which involve council and partner agencies undertaking targeted maintenance and improvement work across the district, have been extended. "I’m delighted to say we will be announcing a number of free events across the district in the coming months and doubling the community grants we give to every councillor for causes close to their heart," continued Cllr Cunningham. "We're also looking at how we can build on existing successes, such as our markets, and provide even greater support for the events and initiatives that bring people together."
"There’s a lot happening across the Braintree district, and this new campaign will show why here is such a brilliant place to live, work and visit."
