“"Good health and wellbeing means different things to different people, which is why it’s so important that we hear directly from our residents. Whether it’s mental wellbeing, the cost of living, staying active or feeling safe in your community, your views will help shape our priorities for the next four years and ensure the strategy reflects the realities of everyday life in Epping Forest."

Residents across Epping Forest are invited to share their views on the future of health and wellbeing in the district as the Epping Forest District Council begins shaping its new strategy for 2027 to 2031.
The Epping Forest Health and Wellbeing Board, led by Epping Forest District Council, is actively seeking feedback from residents, community groups, charities, local organisations, and partners. This input will be crucial in shaping the Epping Forest Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2027 to 2031.
The current strategy, established in 2022, aimed to improve health and wellbeing across the district through collaboration. As work commences on the next iteration, the board is keen to understand what has been effective and what local people consider most important for the future.
A public consultation is open from 18 October 2026 until 31 December 2026, offering residents a platform to share their experiences, priorities, and ideas for enhancing health and wellbeing throughout Epping Forest. While data identifies challenges, the council acknowledges that resident feedback is vital to reflect day-to-day realities, including factors like financial pressures, housing, caring responsibilities, loneliness, employment, and access to support.
The feedback gathered will directly inform the final strategy, ensuring it aligns with the needs and experiences of local communities. Proposed priorities for the Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2027 to 2031 include improving mental wellbeing and social connectedness, supporting residents with the rising cost of living, promoting healthier lifestyles and independence, enhancing education and employment opportunities, and strengthening community cohesion and safety.
