Maldon District Council has confirmed the return of its Free Christmas Parking Scheme, offering residents and visitors complimentary parking in the town centre on specific dates throughout the winter.

The initiative aims to support local businesses and enhance the festive shopping experience by making it easier for people to access Maldon town centre during the busy Christmas period.
Free parking will be available on the following dates: Thursday 26 November (from 2pm), supporting the Light Up Maldon event; Thursday 3 December (from 2pm); Thursday 10 December (from 2pm); Thursday 17 December (from 2pm); and all day on Christmas Eve.
This offer applies exclusively to the following town centre car parks: White Horse Lane, Butt Lane, High Street East, and Friary Fields. Standard charges will remain in effect for all other council car parks and outside of the specified dates and times.
Cllr Simon Morgan, Leader of Maldon District Council, expressed his pleasure at the scheme's return. "We're pleased to bring back our Free Christmas Parking Scheme and give residents and visitors even more reasons to enjoy everything Maldon town centre has to offer this festive season," he stated.
He added, "By making it easier for people to visit the High Street, we're helping shoppers support local businesses, discover great independent retailers and enjoy the events taking place across the town. I encourage everyone to make the most of the free parking sessions, shop local and have a happy Christmas."
The Free Christmas Parking Scheme is part of the Council's ongoing commitment to supporting local enterprises and aims to attract more visitors to the town centre during one of the year's peak trading periods.
