Plans for new wayfinding and directional signage in Haverhill town centre have been approved by councillors, aiming to enhance the area's appearance and connectivity.

Proposals for new wayfinding and directional signage in Haverhill town centre have been agreed upon as part of broader initiatives to improve the town centre.
The plans were given the go-ahead by councillors on West Suffolk’s Development Control Committee on Wednesday, 14 October.
The approved proposals include the installation of three double-sided, non-illuminated wayfinding totems located outside the Haverhill Arts Centre, Boots, and Peas Market Hill. Additionally, four directional post signs will be placed outside the Arts Centre car park, Jubilee Walk, Jubilee Walk Plaza, and Lower Down Slade.
This new signage is a component of the wider £1.693 million Haverhill High Street Enhancement Scheme, which aims to revitalise the town centre, improve its aesthetics, and create a more welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and businesses.
The wayfinding proposals were developed through local engagement, involving residents who shared memories and stories about the town, its notable characters, and the local landscape with artist Steve Pardue. The Haverhill Local History Group also contributed valuable time and content, ensuring the signs reflect Haverhill’s distinct identity and heritage.
