Luton Council has announced two remembrance events to commemorate Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day, reflecting the town's deep armed forces heritage. These occasions serve as moments for national reflection, honouring past sacrifices and current service personnel.
On Sunday 8 November, the Remembrance Sunday Parade will commence from Park Street West at 10:40am, proceeding to the Town Hall for a 11am service led by Pastor Lloyd Denny. The service will include prayers, civic leader participation, wreath-laying at the War Memorial, and a moment of silence.
A brief Armistice Day service will be held on the steps of the Town Hall on Wednesday 11 November, shortly before 11am. Reverend Jairo Nyaongo, Area Dean of Luton, will lead the proceedings, which will feature The Last Post, a two-minute silence, and the National Anthem.
“

"These events are a chance for our whole town to come together, to honour those who gave their lives, and to show our gratitude to the veterans and serving personnel who continue to give so much to Luton and to the country. We warmly invite everyone to join us outside the Town Hall on both Sunday and Wednesday to pay their respects."

Councillor Amjid Ali · Leader of Luton Council
Additional services will also take place in Luton: a service of remembrance at the Marsh Road War Memorial on Sunday 8 November at 11am, and a service at the War Memorial in Stopsley on Wednesday 11 November, also starting at 11am.
