A medical secretary from Basildon has successfully completed her first half marathon, raising double her fundraising target for the National Deaf Children's Society.

Grace Bryant, who works in the Basildon Mental Health Urgent Care Department at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, finished the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London on Sunday 11 October. She completed the 13.1-mile race in 3 hours and four minutes.
Bryant, whose son was born profoundly deaf in his left ear, expressed her delight with the event. "It was really good fun. It’s a great atmosphere and everyone’s support keeps you going," she said. "I’ve managed to double my target now and have raised £700, so I’m super pleased with that!"
Last October, Bryant participated in the National Deaf Children’s Society's 100-mile challenge, raising over £200. Donations can still be made via her fundraising page.
The Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (EPUT) provides 24-hour mental health and community care services across Essex, Luton, Bedfordshire, and Suffolk, employing over 7,200 staff.
