Residents in north Cambridge are being invited to provide feedback on proposals for over 400 new homes, including more than 200 council homes, alongside community facilities, shops, and green spaces at Arbury Court and the Kingsway area.
The Cambridge Investment Partnership (CIP), a joint venture between Cambridge City Council and The Hill Group, has initiated a public consultation on plans for the two sites. These proposals aim to enhance the area, building on the council's North Cambridge Framework for Change, which identified a need for investment and improvement following community engagement in 2025. Feedback highlighted resident desires for energy-efficient council homes, improved public spaces, youth facilities, and safer streets.
The emerging plans include new and improved green spaces, enhanced walking and cycling routes, and better community and commercial facilities. Feedback gathered during this consultation will inform further proposals before a subsequent round in early 2027, after which planning applications will be submitted.
At Arbury Court, the proposals feature new council homes, homes for private rent or sale, upgraded community facilities including a new library, a revitalised shopping area, and new public spaces. At Kingsway, plans incorporate new homes alongside open spaces that complement the area's existing green character, with a proposed miniature woodland and play features. Improved active travel links with dedicated walking and cycling routes are also planned.

"We have heard from local people that they want us to invest in providing more comfortable, energy-efficient council homes in this part of the city. We want to ensure that the new developments reflect the needs and aspirations of the people who live and work here."

"These consultations are an important opportunity to hear from residents, gather local knowledge and understand what matters most to the community. This feedback will help inform the next stage of design development for Arbury Court and Kingsway, as we continue to develop the proposals and engage with the community."
Residents can view the plans online, at drop-in events, or by collecting printed copies from Arbury Court Library and The Meadows Community Centre. Feedback can be submitted via surveys at in-person events or online. Information in other languages is available on request.
Drop-in events for Arbury Court are scheduled for Wednesday 28 October (4-7pm at Church of the Good Shepherd) and Saturday 7 November (11am-1pm at The Meadows Community Centre), with an online webinar on Thursday 12 November (5:30-6:30pm). For Kingsway, events are on Wednesday 4 November (4-7pm at Church of the Good Shepherd) and Saturday 7 November (1:30-3:30pm at The Meadows Community Centre), with an online webinar on Thursday 19 November (5:30-6:30pm).
The consultations are open from Wednesday 28 October to Friday 20 November. Feedback will be used to refine proposals before further consultation in early 2027, with planning applications expected later that year.
