South Cambridgeshire District Council is inviting residents to help shape its priorities and spending for the 2027/28 financial year by participating in a new survey.

Residents across South Cambridgeshire are being encouraged to share their views on key issues affecting their communities and suggest actions that could make the biggest difference. The feedback gathered will directly influence the Council's budget and strategic priorities for the upcoming year, with a focus on areas such as community wellbeing, affordable housing, climate action, support for local businesses, and environmental protection.
The survey, which opened on Wednesday 28 October, covers a wide range of topics including supporting thriving communities, delivering sustainable homes, tackling climate change, and assisting local businesses. Participants are also invited to propose their own ideas and recommend practical actions. The Council aims to hear from as many residents, businesses, and community groups as possible before final decisions are made.

"The people who live and work in South Cambridgeshire know their communities best, so it's important their voices help shape the decisions we make. We're facing difficult challenges, including growing demand for services and continued pressure on public finances. We also have uncertainty around national plans for local government reorganisation. That makes it even more important that we understand what matters most to residents and businesses, so we can focus our efforts where they'll have the greatest impact."

Cllr Bridget Smith · Leader of South Cambridgeshire District Council

"Whether it's protecting green spaces, supporting local businesses, improving wellbeing, tackling climate change or helping provide homes people can afford to live in, we want to hear your views before decisions are made about the year ahead."

Cllr Bridget Smith · Leader of South Cambridgeshire District Council
The survey is open until 11:59pm on Tuesday 8 December 2026. Residents can participate online via the South Cambridgeshire District Council website or request a paper copy by emailing engage@scambs.gov.uk or calling 01954 713 000.
Recent achievements by the Council include delivering 135 new Council Homes in 2025/26, reducing Council operations' emissions by 45%, removing 436 fly-tips, assisting residents with over 1,200 cost-of-living claims generating nearly £1,000,000, and securing £230,000 for a new Green Business Programme.
