Communities across the Epping Forest district will unite on 8 November 2026 for Remembrance Sunday and on 11 November for Armistice Day to honour the service and sacrifice of those who have defended freedoms.

Services and wreath-laying ceremonies will take place across the district on Remembrance Sunday, with residents encouraged to observe a two-minute silence at 11am. Armistice Day on Wednesday, 11 November, offers a further opportunity to reflect on the contributions of members of the Armed Forces, past and present, and their families.
The Civic Offices in Epping will be illuminated in red from Sunday, 8 November, through to Remembrance Day on Wednesday, 11 November. This period is considered a significant date in the civic calendar, providing a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
