Thurrock Council has renewed the contract for the 375 bus service, ensuring its operation until at least 2029 and maintaining vital links for several communities.

The council-supported bus service, which connects communities in Horndon on the Hill, Stanford-le-Hope, East Tilbury, Chadwell St Mary, and Grays, was launched in 2024. The renewal guarantees its continuation for residents.
Cllr Alan Benson, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Transport and Highways, highlighted the service's importance. "Talking to residents we know how important this bus service is to these communities," he stated. "The 375 will continue to link some of the borough's more remote and rural communities and ensure people can reach larger transport hubs such as mainline railway stations and Grays bus station."
The 375 route operates Monday to Saturday, with five services in each direction between 7am and 6:45pm. It starts from South Hill Crescent in Horndon on the Hill and terminates at Grays bus station, serving stops including East Tilbury Station and Coalhouse Fort.
The service, operated by Central Connect, will maintain its current schedule and routes. Thurrock Council supports the service through funding allocated by the Department for Transport.
