The formal Notice of Election was published on 5 November 2026. Prospective candidates are now able to submit their nomination papers to the Returning Officer by 4pm on Friday 13 November 2026.
Residents in Leigh ward are encouraged to ensure they are registered to vote and to make necessary arrangements ahead of the upcoming deadlines. The deadline to register to vote is midnight on Tuesday 24 November 2026.
Key dates for voters include applying for a postal vote by 5pm on Wednesday 25 November 2026, and applying for a proxy vote or a Voter Authority Certificate (Voter ID) by 5pm on Wednesday 2 December 2026.
