Southend-on-Sea is set to hold its annual Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service on 8 November 2026, with a further two-minute silence observed on 11 November.

Residents, veterans, serving personnel, and visitors are invited to the annual Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service on 8 November 2026. The parade will assemble at Prittlewell Square at 10:15am before proceeding along Clifftown Parade to the Southend Cenotaph for a 10:45am start. The Service of Remembrance will commence at 11am, including the national two-minute silence.
Local veterans, serving personnel, and members of uniformed organisations are warmly encouraged to participate in the parade. Those wishing to join are asked to contact the Mayor's Office at mayorsoffice@southend.gov.uk to register their interest and receive further details.
The service offers an opportunity to honour those who sacrificed their lives in past conflicts and to pay tribute to veterans and current service members. Wreaths will be laid by civic dignitaries, armed forces representatives, veterans, faith leaders, and community organisations. Members of the public will also be invited to lay wreaths during the service.
In addition to the main service, the Mayor will lead a two-minute silence on Wednesday, 11 November, at 11am on Southend-on-Sea High Street, near the Victoria Shopping Centre.
