Three Rivers District Council has taken swift action to safeguard protected woodland at Long Spring, Loudwater, by serving a stop notice and an enforcement notice following unauthorised development.

Unauthorised work to create a new access and install timber gates began in August without planning permission. The district council responded quickly by issuing a temporary stop notice to prevent further activity.
Cllr Louise Price, Deputy Leader of the Council, stated: “Such blatant disregard for planning law cannot and will not be allowed. Let this stand as an example to others that this council and its planning rules will not be ignored. We have taken action in Long Spring, and we will do it again whenever we have to.”
A separate planning application for a two-pitch traveller site at the location is currently under consideration by planning officers and will be assessed on its own merits through the established planning process.
