Expanding the range of services available at St Margaret’s CDC is an important part of our commitment to providing more care closer to home. Relocating blood testing to the CDC will give patients a modern, purpose-built environment and enable us to offer more appointments, while creating a more efficient experience. Alongside our blood testing services at the Harvey Centre in Harlow and Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop’s Stortford, this will improve access to diagnostic care across the communities we serve.

The blood testing service from St Margaret’s Hospital in Epping is relocating to the new St Margaret’s Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) on 16 November, providing patients with a modern, purpose-built environment.
The relocation aims to offer patients a more convenient setting alongside other diagnostics services, increasing access to care closer to home. This move is the latest expansion of services at the CDC, which opened in May and is designed to transform care by supporting quicker, more local access to diagnostic tests.
Blood testing will continue to be available at the Harvey Centre in Harlow and Herts and Essex Hospital in Bishop’s Stortford, as well as at existing health centre and GP practice clinics. The service will be delivered by the experienced phlebotomy team from Health Services Laboratories (HSL), expecting to see around 230 patients daily.
Patients referred by their GP can still use the same Swiftqueue system to book appointments for the St Margaret’s CDC. Parking arrangements at the St Margaret’s Hospital site remain unchanged.
