The service, led by Fr Andrew Appiah, will commence at 10:45 AM, with a two-minute silence observed at 11 AM, marked by a maroon flare. This event offers an opportunity for the community to gather in quiet reflection and remember those lost in conflict.
Local dignitaries, residents, businesses, and visitors are warmly encouraged to join councillors and council staff for this significant act of remembrance. Attendees are advised to arrive by 10:45 AM to gather on Hythe Quay before the silence.
A note of caution is issued regarding the maroons used to mark the silence, which are described as very loud.
The announcement also details attendance at other Remembrance Sunday events on 8 November, including services in Burnham on Crouch (attended by Cllr Stilts) and Maldon (attended by Chairman of Maldon District Council, Cllr Ron Pratt), as well as an event in Stow Maries (attended by Cllr Pratt).
Further attendance details for Wednesday, 11 November, confirm Cllr Pratt's presence in Burnham on Crouch and Cllr Stilts' attendance at Hythe Quay, Maldon.
