Ipswich Borough Council has announced a series of upcoming community projects and events across the town, including a new inclusive play area, the redevelopment of Broomhill Lido, and festive celebrations.

Work is set to begin on a brand-new inclusive play area and outdoor fitness space at Alderman Road Recreation Ground, which will soon be enjoyed by children and families in Ipswich.
The council's Planning and Development Committee met on 21 October 2026 to discuss a planning application and a Tree Preservation Order. Additionally, plans are progressing for the redevelopment of the historic Broomhill Lido, aiming to bring this cherished heritage asset back into use.
Residents and visitors are invited to the Cornhill on Sunday 8 November for the town’s annual Remembrance services, and on Wednesday 11 November. Later, on Sunday 15 November, Ipswich Borough Council will host this year's Christmas Lights Switch-on celebrations in the heart of Ipswich.
A new wellbeing trail has been established at Orwell Country Park as part of a Pipers Vale partnership project, designed to help people connect with nature and promote wellbeing. Furthermore, a drawing competition has been launched, inviting primary school children across Ipswich to become 'Ipswich's Litter Heroes' and win a Premier League prize, encouraging them to spread a message about keeping the town clean and tidy.
