Students from USP College Seevic Campus have designed and constructed two elaborate zombie-themed floats for Southend's annual Halloween Parade, set to take place on the evening of 31st October.
The students' creations are based on original designs. Samuel Scarlett, an Interior Design & Architecture student, designed a colossal zombie with articulated arms, while Illustration & Graphic Design student Sofia Rodbard designed a large Zombie Cake adorned with eyeballs, bones, and severed limbs. Classmates assisted in the ambitious construction of these pieces.
These designs were selected from a competitive project against their peers by members of the Events Team at Southend City Council. This marks the third year that USP College students have contributed to the parade, an event that draws approximately 20,000 visitors annually.
The floats will be part of the parade along the seafront starting at 6pm on 31st October. Those interested in USP College's Creative Industries courses can attend an Open Evening on 18 November.
